Bradford | News Wed, 07 Sep 2011 02:07:14 -0600 Cool Gas Generator has successfully been ignited /news/2011/cool_gas_generator_has_successfully_been_ignited On the 16th of August, the first Cool Gas Generator (CGS) has successfully been ignited from the ground station in Redu, Belgium. The CGG is part of the Cool Gas Generator Experiment (COGEX) on-board the Proba-2 satellite and is the result of close cooperation between BE and TNO. All pressure and temperature data are according to the predicted values. With this success, the first in-orbit demonstration of this new product is a fact.

- Demonstration of CGG technology in a spaceflight application
- Demonstrate CGG operation after longer mission times
- Demonstrate that the CGG technology is compatible with ESA mission requirements
