Product description
The Xenon Flow Meter (XFM) is a gas flow meter based on the principle of thermal measurement. The unit has integrated electronics for signal processing. The fluidic housing is made out of fully welded titanium.
Abbreviated functional explanation
The XFM fluidic body consists of a bypass element containing the sensing element, and the main channel with a laminar flow element consisting of a stack of stainless steel discs with precision-etched flow channels.
Missions
The XFM is designed for Xenon gas flow measurement in the high-pressure section behind a Xenon storage tank. It has flown on GOCE for Xenon flow measurement in the ion engine feed system.
