Liquid Isolation Valve

Nature
Component

Product description
The Liquid Isolation Valve (LIV) is a solenoid operated flow control valve for use in liquid thermal control systems. In order to exclude external leakage, the design is fully welded.

Abbreviated functional explanation
The LIV is a single stage valve and consists of a coil-actuated poppet whereby the coil, surrounded by a magnetic circuit, activates the poppet. A spring load is applied to the poppet in order to reach the required tightness. The internal geometry is optimized to minimize pressure drop over the valve.

Missions
The LIV is designed for use for fluid isolation in cooling systems and propellant lines. It is qualified for the AlphaBus Mechanically Pumped Fluid Loop.
