October 31st the Progress 45P is successfully launched

On October 31st the Progress 45P is successfully launched and on its way to the International Space Station. On board an educational convection experiment which will be run in the ISS-Columbus module in April 2012.

The EPO Convection activity aims at introducing the concept of convection in general to European children age 10-18. School children will be able to operate their own identical experiment on ground and witness how convection differs under the influence of gravity compared to the Space Station’s microgravity environment.

Progress 45P is to dock with the Station on 2 november. The cargo ships provide the Station with provisions, equipment, experiments and fuel.
